Aœdé's news

Cyrielle Gauvin and Lucie Tréguier, lawyers at the Paris Bar, create the law firm Aœdé.

Aœdé is a boutique law firm dedicated to stakeholders in the creative and cultural industries and the art market.

Its founders wish to express their common passion for the arts and to share the expertise they have acquired throughout the years.

They assist their clients, both in advisory and litigation, by offering pragmatic and personalised solutions in their fields of activity: art, architecture, design, fashion, publishing, etc.

Lucie Tréguier and Cyrielle Gauvin are fully involved in their clients’ industries: For us, this active involvement is essential. We have been visiting creative places and we are active members of various artistic and cultural associations and not-for-profit. It is actually in the framework of one of them, the Barreau des Arts, that we met! [The Barreau des Arts is an association co-founded by Lucie Tréguier, which provides pro bono legal advice to artists in precarious financial situations].

The choice of their address (77, rue de Charonne, 75011 Paris) is not insignificant: they are located in the heart of rehabilitated workshops of an old industrial yard, reminding the artisanal past of the 11th district of Paris.

Aœdé is a law firm with an international focus. Lucie Tréguier and Cyrielle Gauvin worked abroad for several years (Sydney and London) before returning to Paris. They have thus developed an in-depth knowledge of international practices in intellectual property and art markets and are able, with their foreign partners, to assist their clients in the resolution of transnational issues.

Aœdé’s clients include creators, rights holders, gallery owners, auction houses, experts, artistic advisors, agents, collectors, public and private institutions, fashion and haute couture houses, publishing houses, etc.

Lucie Tréguier, partner at Aœdé, led the panel Legal structuring of artists’ groups and collectives at the professional days of the Ile-de-France artists’ collective workshops at Artagon Pantin.

It was an opportunity to discuss with the representatives of artists’ groups and collectives, as well as the other speakers of the panel concerning the legal subjects which affects the artists’ artists’ groups and collectives, in particular the contractualisation and the methods for occupying places.

Thanks to the organizers for the invitation, and in particular Artagon, the DOC!, Le Houloc and the DRAC.
